GENERAL INFORMATIONStay Bar Harbor has a number of great options available at a discounted rate to our guests. This group owns and operates a variety of accommodation options in the Bar Harbor Area, which you can explore <a href="https://www.staybarharbor.com/where-to-stay.htm" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">here</a>. ADDITIONAL DETAILSIf you choose to stay at a Stay Bar Harbor property, we encourage you to stay from 10/1 to 10/4 to enjoy time with us on both Friday and Saturday. There is, however, no minimum or maximum stay with these properties, and you can book a shorter or longer stay as necessary! The discount may become unavailable within 3 months of our wedding day. HOW TO BOOKFor a discounted rate at any Stay Bar Harbor property, simply contact Brandon at 207-266-9136. Tell him you are calling to book for Kara &amp; Brennan’s wedding, and he will be able to book you directly by phone with a discounted rate. There is not a code for booking online. Where to Stay

We expect many of you will be flying, and this is the closest major airport to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor! The&nbsp;Bangor International Airport is about 1 hour from the island. We recommend getting a rental car! It is the most flexible way to travel to Bar Harbor and explore the National Park. You can find the airport's ground transportation page <a href="https://flybangor.com/airport-information/ground-transportation/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">here</a>. If you don't want to rent a car, there is a limited shuttle service listed below (Downeast Transportation).

Bangor International Airport

This is a limited shuttle service from Bangor to Bar Harbor. NOTE: This service is only available on weekdays and leaves the airport at 1:45 pm ET.

Downeast Transportation

Useful if you choose not to rent a car, or are looking for a public transportation option to explore the park. The fare-free Island Explorer features bus routes linking hotels, inns, and campgrounds with destinations in Acadia National Park and neighboring village centers. There is a stop right outside the Explore Acadia Cottages (you must flag down the driver)!

Group Hike in Acadia National Park

We would love for you to join us Friday morning for a group hike in Acadia National Park! Don't worry - we will be picking a trail of mild difficulty to make it accessible to as many people as possible. The exact time and location will be added here this summer. Acadia is a beautiful park with rocky shorelines, coastal views, and forest trails. We hope to spend some time with you all in the park, and encourage you to explore for yourselves if you have any downtime! Don't forget a park pass if you are attending! Welcome Party

~5:00 PM Join us Friday evening for a welcome gathering at <a href="https://maps.apple/p/0hJ4Q2mANYQmnT" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Explore Acadia Cottages</a>! There will be brick oven pizza, drinks, and more for all to enjoy! Attire is casual! Dress for the weather and for a bonfire.

Visit Bar Harbor

Bar Harbor is the heart of Mount Desert Island. It's a quintessential coastal town in New England with tons of shops, restaurants, bars, and more! We think this is a great option for anyone looking for something to do in between our hike and welcome gathering events on Friday. Go check it out!

Hike in Acadia National Park

EASY HIKES Jordan Pond Path - 3.3 miles. Popular path around Jordan Pond. Ocean Path Trail - 4 miles. Mostly flat walk along the ocean. MODERATE HIKES Gorham Mountain Loop - 3 mile loop. Some scrambling up. Cadillac Mountain North Ridge Trail - 4 miles. Takes you up to the highest point in Acadia, Cadillac Mountain. Cadillac Mountain South Ridge Trail - 7 miles. One of the longer hikes on the island with ~1,600ft of elevation. DIFFICULT HIKES The Beehive Loop Trail - A very popular trail. 1.5 miles. Challenging as it has rungs and ladder sections.

Registry

Do I need a park pass for the weekend?

You do not need a National Park Pass for the Explore Acadia Cottages, to visit Bar Harbor, or for our wedding venue! However, if you plan to go into the park or join us for our Friday group hike, you will need to purchase a National Park Pass. A Standard Entrance Pass for vehicles covers both you and your passengers. When should I RSVP by?

We kindly ask that you RSVP <a href="https://www.karaandbrennan.com/rsvp" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">here</a> by July 1st! This is so we can provide accurate and final guest counts to our vendors on time. Thanks so much!

What should I wear at the wedding?

Attire for our wedding is semi-formal! The Knot has a visual guide <a href="https://www.theknot.com/content/what-to-wear-semi-formal" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">here</a> that may be helpful! Bridesmaids will be wearing dark green, but it's not necessary to avoid. Just don't wear a white dress lol

Do you have a registry anywhere?

We do not have a registry and kindly request no gifts! For those able to attend, your presence is the greatest gift!
